What You Missed in Beijing

On April 23rd people gathered in Beijing to support ChinaWire’s charity mission to raise the standard of education throughout China’s poorest counties.  Ambassadors, artists, former members of the Chinese government, representatives from foreign governments and members of the public all came together to help make ChinaWire’s mission a success. The evening was full of standout performances, enchanting artwork and great conversation from noted luminaries.  ChinaWire would like to thank all involved for making last Sunday such a memorable night!

American sculptor Daniel Krause

Daniel Krause has been in China since 1987, and is the only foreign

staff member at Renmin University's Central Art Academy.  As a younger man he met with former U.S. President Nixon and in 2008 he ran with the torch in Guangzhou for the Beijing Olympics. Recently he received the honor of being invited to the exclusive Bal des Debutantes in Paris.  Daniel has a charitable and good heart, and was excited to be part of this charity program.

Designer Chantel

Chantel studied fashion and design in France and Korea, giving her unique take on Chinese traditional fashion an international twist.  She was the only Chinese designer in the Miss World, Miss Global and Mrs. Global competitions. She showcased Chinese traditional culture and clothing with a fashion show at the Suriname Embassy in January.  After studying abroad Chantel believes in the importance of bringing in talented foreigners to help raise educational standards.

Guests were treated to a magical chello performance from Just Chellin'.

Currently the only foreign belly dancer in China, Inko Di O wowed the audience with her speculator performance.  Inko Di O teaches and performs dance in China.  She says that it is very important because it connects the mind with the body, the human being with the animal and the divine.
