Mr. Bean Comes to China

Rowan Atkinson revived his iconic character Mr Bean in China at the premiere of his latest movie.

The actor is starring in Top Funny Comedian, a China-only release in which the star plays his famous character alongside Chinese stars Guo Degang and Yue Yunpeng.

In the rare appearance, Atkinson dusted off some of Bean's trademark physical comedy, wearing the famous brown suit and red tie as he pulled his funny facial expressions... without looking like he's aged a day.

One of the last times we saw Atkinson in character was at an appearance at the London 2012 Olympics opening ceremony, where he used his notable slapstick humour in a Chariots of Fire segment.

He's since played the role for Snickers commercials.

The revival of Bean comes after the actor's divorce from wife Sunetra in 2015, with whom he'd been together for 24 years.

Top Funny Comedian is expected to prove quite profitable for the star, especially after the last Bean movie in 2006 - Mr Bean's Holiday - raked in £2.4 million in China.

The witless character is incredibly popular around the globe, and is even known as Mr Foolish Bean in Asia.

Guo revealed at the premiere that he and Atkinson had to communicate through body language, as he speaks little English himself.

"Just with facial expressions and gestures we seemed to understand each other," he said (via The Times).

"It was really an interesting experience, which proves that comedy can cross boundaries."
