List of Original Xbox Games Now Compatible with Xbox One

Source: forbes.com

Today, 13 original Xbox games will be available to play on the Xbox One via the system's ever-growing backwards compatibility list.

These aren't remasters, but according to Microsoft the games will look and run better on the Xbox One and Xbox One S. Performance will be even better on the Xbox One X which launches in November.

The games will have up to 4 times the pixel count on Xbox One and Xbox One S, and up to 16 times the pixel count on the Xbox One X according to Microsoft.

Microsoft also notes that the online features for these games will not be available, however any local multiplayer features will be, once again reminding us of the importance of things like split-screen and couch co-op gameplay.

Here's the full list:

  • BLACK

  • BloodRayne 2

  • Crimson Skies: High Road to Revenge

  • Dead to Rights

  • Fuzion Frenzy

  • Grabbed by the Ghoulies

  • King of Fighters Neowave

  • Ninja Gaiden Black

  • Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time

  • Psychonauts

  • Red Faction II

  • Sid Meier’s Pirates!

  • Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic

Additionally, Microsoft announced for more Xbox 360 games that will be "enhanced" on the Xbox One X:

  • Assassin’s Creed

  • Fallout 3

  • Halo 3

  • Oblivion

If you ever find yourself suffering from an acute case of nostalgia and have some old original Xbox games lying around, now you can play them on your Xbox One. Gamers can also buy any of these as digital downloads.

It's been quite a while since I played Prince of Persia: Sands of Time or Ninja Gaiden Black, both great games that need modern, current-gen sequels.

It's also been ages since I played the wonderful Sid Meier's Pirates, though I believe I played that on PC. Really, the entire list is pretty stellar.

Nevertheless, it's hard for nostalgia to compete with all the new releases coming out at the moment.

Will you be playing any of these on your Xbox One?
