Woman’s Hilarious Passport Photo Fail

Passport photos are universally unflattering. The bad lighting, the poor timing, the awkward, non-smiling expression: it’s never a good shot. We’re all convinced ours must be the worst passport photo ever taken. But this woman might be able to claim that unenviable title.

Chelsey Ramos, 27, from Texas, was particularly horrified when she received in the mail her freshly renewed passport from the US State Department. The photo Ramos had submitted to the department when she renewed her passport ahead of a trip to Germany was this nice, normal snap.

And this is the monstrosity that ended up being printed on her passport.

It appears that the imagehad become distorted during the printing process, and resulted in a monstrously elongate forehead atop Ramos’ softly smiling face. Ramos was said to be “furious” at the blunder but her boyfriend, Reece Lagunas, saw the funny side.

He told Buzzfeed when Ramos flicked her passport to the photopage she screamed, “Oh my f***ing God ... no they didn’t!” “I ran in to see what was the matter and just started laughing,” Lagunas said. “Uncontrollable giggling.”

Lagunas then posted the botched photo on Reddit for everyone else’s amusement. The post prompted waves of comments that compared Ramos to characters from the 1993 flick Coneheads.

This story has a happy ending — Ramos sent her passport back and has since received a new one that bears the lovely, original photo of herself, proportional forehead and all.
